With all of the news surrounding Whitney Houston's daughter Bobbi Kristina's terrifying bathtub incident – in which the singer's kin was found unconscious this past weekend and now sits in a medically-induced coma – it seems actor Val Kilmer's horrific throat tumor may have been overlooked. After being rushed to the hospital a few days ago, it was said that doctors reportedly found a tumor, which had caused the Batman Forever actor's bleeding from the throat––yeah, that's right; bleeding from the throat. Now, it seems that his family may be blaming one thing: religion.

TMZ is reporting that after doctors found the tumor at UCLA Medical Center in Santa Monica, his family says that he's known about it since the summer, having had "trouble speaking" as his neck was swelling up.

They claim to have told Kilmer to seek medical treatment; however, he refused to do so based on his religious beliefs. Which apparently rejected medical treatments. The gossip site notes that "anyone who persisted got cut out of his life."

And while he didn't report any pains because he felt prayer would heal him, when he began coughing up blood his thoughts seemed to change.

Readers, what are your thoughts on Kilmer's situation? Should he have sought medical treatment earlier or was the whole blood-in-the-throat thing just a "darkest before the dawn" type situation?

TMZ reportedly reached out to the church but heard nothing back. Perhaps they're praying away another medical case?

Stay tuned for updates on both Val Kilmer's situation as well as Bobbi Kristina's with MStars News.
