Lindsay Lohan was rushed to the hospital on Sunday, the New York Daily News reported.
The "Mean Girls" actress was taken to a Manhattan emergency room for a chest infection, the site said.
According to her father, she was treated at Mount Sinai hospital, given some antibiotics and released.
"She's fine, but she had a bad case of asthma as a kid, so she has to take these things seriously," Michael Lohan told the Daily News. "When she was a kid, we almost lost her a couple of times because of the asthma."
He said Lindsay had been having trouble with her lungs for weeks and a trip to New York from California was delayed.
TMZ's sources said Lohan may have had a "walking pneumonia."
Lohan got herself into trouble again last week for a reported hit and run after she called out Nickelodeon star Amanda Bynes for not being reprimanded for her run-ins with law enforcement.
The actress wasn't given an alcohol test, though she was charged with leaving the scene of an accident, the Daily News said.
Lilo reportedly hit a Manhattan cook with her Porsche and was "slurring" and "smelled of alcohol."
According to video survelliance, the cook chased after Lohan's car even though he claimed he was seriously injured.
But Lohan is sticking to her story that she was not under the influence and is considering suing the cook, Jose Rodriguez.
"She's absolutely suing," Michael Lohan told the News Monday. "You have to put your foot down to people doing this to you. I mean, come on. This guy has a brace on but went running down the ramp after her?"
Lohan's newest project, the television Lifetime movie "Liz & Dick," is set to come out in November and a film with porn star James Deen has finished shooting, yet the troubled star still remains on probation for stealing a necklace.
