Season 5 of AMC's The Walking Dead returns this Sunday, but the first two minutes of the midseason premiere have already been released.
E! Online posted the video, which you can check out below. The clip features a eulogy for Beth, some tears, the return of the prison, and a conversation between Rick and Noah about a possible safe haven near Washington, D.C.
"It's a long trip, but if it works out, it's the last long trip we have to make," Rick says in the video.
Fans of the comic will recognize this haven as Alexandria, the longest-running location in the series' history.
according to some new spoilers, Rick will take her death and make a very questionable choice.
The following comes from the "Ask Ausiello" column at TVLine.
"Question: Got anything on The Walking Dead's midseason premiere? -Jacob
Ausiello: Proving once again that no good deed goes unpunished, Rick's attempt to honor Beth doesn't just go badly, it goes catastrophically badly."
In related news, E! Online caught up with executive produer Gale Anne Hurd, who previewed the second half of the fifth season.
"Sarah: Brains, errr, zombie news, please! Anything on The Walking Dead?
Our hunger for scoop couldn't be contained either! We tracked down executive producer Gale Anne Hurd at the Producer Guild Awards and tried to pry as much scoop out of her as possible. When we meet up with Rick Grimes and Co. in February, 'there will be a lot of action, there will be a few tears, and we'll be seeing an entirely new aspect of the world that we've seen thus far. That's something that I think the comic book fans are especially looking forward to,' she tells us."
Hurd also dropped some news about The Walking Dead spinoff, which is reportedly entitled Fear The Walking Dead.
"As for the companion series that's still in the pilot stage, Hurd revealed they're knee-deep in filming now. 'I've been on set every day,' she says. 'It's going great. It's another way to examine how the zombie apocalypse affects families, and we're coming at it from an entirely different direction and we're examining families in Los Angeles. So it's nice to be at home, destroying LA as we do.'"
