Simon Cowell Dating 2012: Carmen Electra? 'X-Factor' Star Spotted 'Making Out' with Baywatch Babe

Rumors have it that "X-Factor" creator and former "American Idol" tough guy Simon Cowell is currently dating former "Baywatch" babe Carmen Electra. The two celebs have been spotted on a string of "secret" dates, and The Sun reports that some onlookers recently witnessed the two "making out" and cozying up at a L.A. restaurant. Guess the duo's dates aren't so secret after all.

One Sun source claims, "They were getting very cozy. They were holding hands and staring into each other's eyes - then they started making out."

Even so, another inside source at E! News insists that the two are "just friends" and that their "dinner date" was actually just a casual get-together with a large group of friends. The insider states, "They are just friends from the UK and the US. They have known each other a while and she guest judged on 'Britain's Got Talent.'"

Still, one friend of Electra's recently said that the 40-year-old is ready to "get back in the dating pool" following her split from Otep and Filter guitarist Rob Patterson earlier this year. The friend insists that "Simon treats her very well. It's all very laid back at the moment but they are both enjoying themselves."

Electra was formerly married to basketball star Dennis Rodmen and Jane's Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro. Since her breakup with Patterson she hasn't been linked to anyone (up until now with Cowell), and even appeared on the celebrity reality dating show "The Choice."

As for 52-year-old Cowell, he was previously engaged to "American Idol" makeup artist Mezhgan Hussainy and claims that he had an affair with former "X-Factor" judge Dannii Minogue.

While the Cowell-Electra dating rumors have yet to be confirmed, photos of the couple enjoying a dinner at West Hollywood's Cecconi's restaurant on Saturday (then hopping into Simon's limo) prove that a budding romance could be in the works. One onlooker claimed, "They were with other friends at the restaurant, but didn't seem to mind."

Even before the dating gossip began to make headlines, there seemed to be a lot of flirting going on between Electra and Cowell during the model-actress' guest judge appearance on "Britain's Got Talent" earlier this year, so maybe now is just the right time and place for the two to finally get together.

Looks like both Cowell and Electra like to date within the business, so maybe such dating rumors aren't so far-fetched. What do fans think?
