When actress Rosie Perez (Do The Right Thing) returned to her hosting duties on ABC's The View, she made quite a controversial stir during the show. The White Men Can't Jump actress blamed Bobbi Kristina Brown's drug abuse on the Lifetime biopic, which Angela Bassett directed, of the late Whitney Houston.
As we previously mentioned, Houston's daughter, Bobbi Kristina, 21, was found unresponsive in her Georgia home bathtub. She was found similarly to how her mother was discovered almost three years ago. Police and a rescue team arrived at Kristina's home, performed "life-saving measures" before she was taken to North Fulton Hospital.
According to In Touch, during the "Hot Topics" segment, the 50-year-old actress and her co-hosts were in the midst of discussing Brown's ongoing health crisis, Perez stated, "Just thought about the movie that came out, and this is no disrespect to Angela Bassett because I love [her], but this unauthorized bio of her mom must have killed her."
We mentioned before, Bassett had to defend her Lifetime biopic,Whitney, after Houston's family were outraged by the final cut. The American Horror Story actress tweeted, "#Whitney and Bobby IMPACTED each other greatly. I wanted to show that their LOVE was stronger than either of them knew it could be..."

Perez though backtracked her previous statement and apologized, "That was terrible phrasing. It must have hurt her deeply to watch that. We forget these people are human beings. We put them in the tabloids, and we forget they're human beings."
While Perez's words came off wrong, does she still make an interesting point? Whitney, which premiered last month, could have forced the 21-year-old to relive the tremendous heartbreak of losing her mother.
