Lady Gaga has taken the publicity surrounding her recent weight gain and turned it around to spread awareness about body image issues, launching a new "Born this Way" Foundation campaign deemed "Body Revolution." But that still hasn't changed Staten Island politician James Molinaro's negative opinion on the pop megastar. According to Molinaro, Gaga is still a "slut" (in every sense of the word), especially after the Mother Monster was snapped openly smoking marijuana while onstage at a recent concert in Amsterdam.
In a report published by the Staten Island Advance on Monday, borough president Molinaro supposedly said this about the 26-year-old "Bad Romance" songstress:
"There's Gaga. Here's this, this, I would call her a slut. This slut is influencing many, many children," My niece has two daughters, 12 and 14, they love this woman. Why? Why? So we have a job to do with these actresses, these actors, these ball players. They use drugs as it's nothing. We shouldn't praise them. We shouldn't honor them. We should really hit them... To me, she's not an actress, she's a slut, in the pure word, in the pure meaning of the word."
Molinaro is referring to recent pics of Gaga, where she appears to be lighting up a marijuana cigarette at an Amsterdam concert that took place last week. The photos were exhibited alongside a poster that stated, "Stop glorifying drug use in the media."

Along with this "smoking Mary Jane onstage" controversy, Lady Gaga has been flaunted in the Hollywood limelight because of her recent weight gain. Gaga, who has embraced her fuller figure, claims that she gained about 25 pounds thanks to good old, authentic Italian food (which she's a sucker for).
Following all the hype about her added few extra pounds, Gaga launched a 2013 "Body Revolution" campaign on her fan site littlemonsters on Tuesday. To kick-off the campaign, Gaga posted untouched pics of her posing in nothing but a pale yellow bra-and-panties set, embracing her new curvaceous look. Since "Body Revolution" hit the web, over 300 Little Monsters have posted intimate photos of themselves, highlighting their biggest insecurities and body image issues in an effort to accept and embrace the fact that they we are all "Born this Way."

Even with that (and condemnation from many other local area politicians), 81-year-old Molinaro defended his calling Lady Gaga a "slut" with this statement (again, according to the Staten Island Advance):
"A slut is someone that's immoral or uses improper conduct. That's the interpretation in the Random dictionary. So she's using improper conduct. So she's a slut. What's the big deal about it? Are you excited because she's female? There's males that are sluts too ... Anyone that would expose people that look up to them and who their idol is, to the use of narcotics, to me is a slut, male or female. It doesn't matter."
Hmm, maybe Molinaro should double-check his own morals before lambasting Gaga for being such a negative influence on his two teenage daughters...
