Marya Rosales, a 1100 pound woman, came under fire after she confessed to having accidentally killed her 2-year-old nephew Eliseo Jr. by rolling her 1100 pound body over him. The crime that she claimed she committed was questioned by her attorney when he realized that the nephew's death was caused by head trauma, rather than being crushed. TLC's new show "Half-Ton Killer?" will follow the story and life of Marya Rosales in the midst of all the drama.
The show's title contains a question mark because the "half-ton killer" Rosales once confessed to a crime that was literally impossible for her to commit. The bed-ridden woman could not roll over and according to reports, it takes 10 adult men to move her out of her bed.
Crushable reported that Rosales' attorney Sergio Valdez felt the story was missing some pieces when the boy's injury appeared to be more than an accident. Rosales was "deathly ill" and was unable to move, so it sparked an investigation to find the truth.
Finally Rosales admitted that her sister Jaime had been physically abusing little Eliseo and at one point hit him hard on his head with a hairbrush for refusing to eat. Rosales wanted to cover up for her sister who still has several other children to take care of.
"I thought I was dying anyway," Mayra said, "so I decided to admit that I'd done it to protect my sister because I love her."
After the truth was revealed, Jaime was sentenced to prison for 15 years. Rosales did not have to go to prison however due to her extreme obesity, she had to stay at a hospital for the obese.
The journey that this woman took is fascinating and more details will unveil at the October 10th premiere of TLC's "Half-Ton Killer?" at 9 p.m. eastern time.
