'Titanfall 2' PS4 Rumors, Gameplay Updates - EA Hints Video Game Sequel Won't Be Xbox Exclusive, Expect PlayStation 4 Release

With one of last year's biggest video games, Titanfall, being a Microsoft Xbox exclusive game, rumors of an expansion to the Sony PlayStation console for the inevitable sequel have been popping up since the 2014 release. Now, a new update from EA Games has PS4 players pretty excited because the company is pretty much teasing a wider market for the highly anticipated sequel! According to IGN, EA's CFO, Blake Jorgensen revealed that Titanfall 2 is probably going to be developed soon and that it wouldn't be another Xbox exclusive.

"Last year it was on the Xbox only; in the future, we haven't yet announced, but we'll probably have another Titanfall game," he said during this week's Technology, Internet & Media Conference. "It will probably be a bigger footprint than just a single platform. I think that's a huge positive for us."

So we almost certainly expect a Titanfall 2 title to be available on multiple platforms; but when will we see it? The earliest could be in 2016 because back in December of 2014, the Titanfall developers, Respawn Entertainment, split into two teams - one of which would focus on the next Titanfall, but not in 2015.

This PlayStation expansion news all but confirms rumors from last year that suggested the same thing.

"I'm sure that there will be future Titanfalls at some point that may be on multiple product platforms. [I] don't know, that's up to the teams that are going through that now," Jorgensen previously said before the launch of Titanfall. "But at the end of the day, we're excited about this Titanfall and we think it will be a big title and it will be great for Xbox One."
