Last night, rappers Rick Ross and Young Jeezy were in a scuffle backstage at he BET Hip-Hop awards at the Atlanta Civic Center. Soon after, Fun Master Flex confirmed the incident on twitter notifying his followers tweeting, "Jeezy and Rick Ross just had words backstage!! Pushin and Shoving!!!"
The reason for the heated confrontation between the two rappers is unknown, but it did not rest. Shortly after, rumors went viral that shots were fired in the parking lot to which Funk Master Flex confirmed tweeting, "Shots Fired in Parking lot!!! Gunman arrested!!! Back to the show and Club later!!!"
According to an Atlanta Police Department Spokesperson, "Shortly after 7:15 pm Saturday, a fight broke out in the parking lot at the Atlanta Civic Center (where the awards were being taped) between two groups. Officers on scene responded to break up the fight and used OC spray [commonly known as pepper spray] in the process. Individuals fled the scene. There were no arrests or reports of serious injuries. Reports of shots fired appear to be untrue."
Howeverm TMZ sources are saying that shots were actually fired. In addition to celebrities rivalries, during the taping of the Chris Lighty tribute, 50 Cent and Fat Joe called a truce for one night as they paid respect to a fallen mogul and friend. Both rappers who are known for their quarrels in Hip Hop, both appeared on stage to honor Lighty, who allegedly committed suicide his year. Convinced that he could have been murdered, 50 Cent hired a private investigator, Les Levine to probe Lighty's death.
