Teen Mom 2 star Leah Messer has enough troubles with an impending divorce from husband Jeremy Calvert, but now she is being accused of operating an illegal styling company. However, the MTV star's business partner defended their endeavor and blasted anyone who says on the contrary.

Just this week, MStars News reported on Radar Online's investigation into Leah's styling practice called Gloss. The gossip site spoke with the West Virginia State Board of Barbers and Cosmetologists, which is not happy with the reality star.

"This business is very much illegal," a spokesperson told Radar. "We will be launching an investigation."

The spokesperson went even further saying the mother-of-three is just "a cosmetology student with more than a year of schooling left" and "as a student, you cannot perform services outside of the school." Another aspect of contention was the fact that Gloss was an online-only venture without a brick and mortar store. "They have to have an actual shop," the spokesperson said. "They need a location for clients to go."

Leslee Pannell, Leah's friend and business partner, told The Ashley Reality Roundup that the Radar story is absolutely false and that she is in fact licensed. "There is zero truth to the investigation," she said. "Nobody [from the state board] has contacted me. We absolutely do have a license. Leah hasn't done hair or makeup for anything," she continued, stressing Leah doesn't get paid for any services. "It's all me or Crystal [Spinks]." In recent Facebook posts, the stylists defended their business, while also thanking their clients for standing by them. "We will protect our reputation and ourselves. This is a future career we believe in," the post read. "Thank you for the support. Success doesn't come without setbacks and haters. We aren't afraid of either."

They then posted a quote from famed philosopher Socrates: "When the debate is lost slander becomes the tool of the loser."
