'The Americans' Season 3 Recap: 'Open House': Keri Russell,Matthew Rhys Are Being Chased!

Season 3 of The Americans continues with an all-new episode on FX. As the spy/family drama picks up from last season's cliff-hanger, will undercover spies Elizabeth (Keri Russell) and Philip (Matthew Rhys) Jennings end up discovering what's inside the 'Open House?'

In the morning, Elizabeth is training her new recruit. While discussing Paige's birthday, Philip reveals he is angry at Elizabeth for going to Gabriel (Frank Langella) without him. They continue with their assignment and break into an open house. The homeowner ends up taking the listening device Philip put inside his house. 

Elizabeth ends up losing their target, because she thinks they are being tailed by another car. They have been on the road till nightfall. Elizabeth drops off Philip, saying they will meet again at home. Back at their house, Paige (Holly Taylor) discovers her brother is jerking off to Mrs. Beeman.

Philip calls one of his contacts for help, talking in code, while Elizabeth continues driving. At FBI headquarters, Stan Beeman (Noah Emmerich) is getting the info about Elizabeth's car. Getting more nervous, Elizabeth listens to the voice on the walkie talkie, giving her directions. 

Late at night, Paige is watching TV when Philip enters the house. He tries to apologize for the late hours but Paige says she's used to it. Though it is the CIA's operation, Stan wants to add more men in the pursuit, making sure Elizabeth doesn't escape.

Philip is worried about Elizabeth, who is still being pursued by the feds. Just as the agents are about to fall in, their radio signals are disrupted. Elizabeth has ten seconds to make a run for it as a sudden car crash stops the feds.

When Elizabeth finally makes it back home, Philip notices she is a nervous wreck. They embrace each other and kiss, but Elizabeth's tooth still hurts. Philip gets the alcohol ready as he has to get the tooth out with his tool kit. With pliers, Philip yanks the tooth out as they stare into each other's eyes. 

Back at headquarters, Stan realizes his targets are very hard to get. He has to pay a visit to his defector. While Elizabeth stops the flirtation with her recruit, Gabriel wants Philip to cool down with his mission. As the two argue over Paige's future, Philip storms out of the room.  

While Stan watches his defector talk on camera, Philip and Elizabeth are back in the car on their stakeout. They don't know what to do with Paige. Philip recognizes the license plate and realizes their target is an important figurehead in the CIA.
