In a response to the relegation status of the team, Villa fired manager Paul Lambert. Taking over for the time being is assistant coach Scott Marshall.
"This is not a job for someone to cut their teeth on. This is all new to me, but I'm happy to do it while things are being sorted," Marshall told the press. "It's a big job. I don't think the players have a point to prove. They want to go out and win the game because they are good professionals and there is a quarter-final place at stake."

With Villa just sacking their manager, Leicester's coach, Nigel Pearson is aware of the pressure he's under, but insists he's only focused on the team.
"I probably feel under more scrutiny but I'm focused on what I'm doing. I will be concentrating on very much the team," Pearson said, according to The Daily Star. "It's not a case of sticking your head in the sand, it's about dealing with situations as they arise. My focus is very much on the team and making sure our performance warrants a win."
