Liam Payne, one of five members of the boy band "One Direction," has a lot on his mind: he recently split from his longtime girlfriend and he is worried about his "best mate" Zayn Malik's emotional state.
Payne dated Danielle Peazer for two years, but allegedly, the couple broke it off because Payne was never around.
Soon after their break up, Payne and singer Leona Lewis went out on a casual date, but told The Sun he would never want to upset his ex.
"Danielle is great, I really hope we can still be friends. I bought her a car for her birthday, but she really isn't fussed by money or fame," he told The Sun (via The Mirror).
"She was talking about dyeing her hair blonde and I said she should. She said she couldn't afford it - which was mad. She wouldn't even ask me for the money for that."
Was Twitter to blame for their split? Peazer was harassed through the social networking site by "One Direction" fans who claimed she was only dating Payne because of his fame and one fan even sent her a death threat, The Mirror reported.
Payne blocked the abusive fan and said he would "take it further" if anything more was said.
When Peazer was being harrassed, Payne tweeted: "Just as I start to like Twitter again I see the nasty side of people who like to dislike somebody who makes me ... Me."
""#SometimesIHateTwitter when it becomes a place to abuse people who uve never met never did anything to you but you still choose to be cruel (sic)."
"To all those people who are going to be d**ks and tweet her horrible stuff now just because i mentioned it ... boring grow up."
Payne might be doing alright, but he is concerned about his group member Zayn Malik.
"The only person I really worry about is Zayn, because I don't think he's quite accustomed to all of this. He's had a terrible time on Twitter, as did Danielle," Payne told The Sun.
Malik recently quit Twitter, but reactivated it within 48 hours. He wrote: "The reason i don't tweet as much as i use to, is because I'm sick of all the useless opinions and hate that i get daily goodbye twitter :)"
"Don't worry about me, im fine. i just deleted my account because of all the hate i was getting just by tweeting something simple."
Malik was also accused of cheating on his girlfriend, "Little Mix" singer Perrie Edwards, through the social networking site. "And all the rumours of me smoking weed and cheating. i dont need to read any of that negativity."
Payne explained that all of the Twitter abuse Malik has received continues to affect him. "I don't think he's quite adjusted to it yet, I'm sure he'll get it. He's my best mate. I've got to look out for him."
