Based on the popular crime novels by the late author Elmore Leonard, the final Season 6 season of Justified continues on FX. Before their inevitable showdown, will Boyd Crowder (Walton Goggins) and Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant) discover they are powerless against Katherine Hale (Mary Steenburgen)?
In our previous recap, Boyd discovered he was actually stealing from Avery Markham (Sam Elliott). While Ava (Joelle Carter) was being held hostage, Ty Walker (Garret Dillahunt) had his paramilitary men kidnap and threaten Boyd to make sure he stays away from their bank vault. Even though Katherine (Steenburgen) was manipulating him, Boyd promises that he will get back at Markham for humiliating him.
In our recent recap, Raylan discovers Markham is planning to legalize his weed business while stealing property to grow it. Just as Boyd is thinking of stealing Avery's idea and robbing his money, Ava is having a nervous breakdown, after having spent a day with Katherine. Ava is afraid Katherine knows about the deal she made with Raylan.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Steenburgen reveals what makes her character a deadly threat, "It's a very dark line. There's other influences in her world, and certainly revenge, clearly, being a massively motivating factor for her. I think she breathes revenge. It's almost a magnet to her, that she's powerless to control. If that were not the case, I think that Avery Markham is the love of her life."
The Last Vegas actress also describes how Katherine sees Ava, "The rest of [the encounter] is Katherine amusing herself at Ava's expense; she sometimes enjoys Ava. Katherine probably sees a little bit of herself in Ava, though I think Katherine feels she's probably smarter than Ava - or she thinks that anyway. But mostly, I think she's enjoying being a cat, playing with the mouse she caught that day."
