'Person Of Interest' Season 4 Recap: 'Q & A': Will Jim Caviezel, Michael Emerson Answer To Samaritan?

Season 4 of Person of Interest returns with an all-new action-packed episode on CBS. With Shaw (Sarah Shahi)'s whereabouts still unknown, are Finch (Michael Emerson), and Reese (Jim Caviezel) unable to answer questions and defend themselves against Samaritan in 'Q & A?'

While Finch arrives at a company that makes a voice-activated app, named VAL. Reese is assigned to protect Anna. Reese spots bruises on Anna, who receives a text about a 9pm gathering. Finch deciphers a message sent directly to him inside a missing dog photo and immediately realizes who it's from. 

Reese discovers Anna is actually an MMA fighter, named The Annihilator, at an underground fight club. During the night, Claire Mahoney (Quinn Shephard) is back and she's incredibly frightened. After getting shot, Claire begs for help from Finch. 

After making a run for it, Finch tells Reese he needs to stay hidden and protect Claire. While Reese breaks into Anna's home, he discovers a sick relative in bed. With Samaritan looking for her, Claire wakes up inside a funeral home. She reveals Samaritan had been ordering her to steal information until she hacked into its system. 

Following Samaritan's orders, Claire realizes she was unknowingly killing innocent civilians. At work, Anna discovers one of her co-workers missing and is ordered to stop looking into the abnormality in the VAL app. Now that Claire has a source code, Finch has a chance to kill Samaritan. Even though Reese saves Anna from a kidnapping, she starts fighting him until he shows his police badge. 

At the precinct, Fusco (Kevin Chapman) interrogates Anna what she knows. VAL had sent one of its users, Zimmerman, over the edge to commit suicide. As Finch begins to doubt Claire's story and thinks she is setting him up, Fusco has to take Anna back home when her sister is suddenly in danger.

Fusco is knocked out as Anna is taken hostage. After waking up, Anna fights her kidnappers and ends up crashing the car. Reese arrives and gets Anna away from the crash site. After being sent VAL's new algorithm, Finch discovers a security guard in the cameras and knocks him out.  

Finch discovers VAL has been targeting its users, creating vulnerable consumers. After Fusco is held hostage, Anna calls Finch by his first name, points a gun to his head, and takes him to meet Samaritan. 

After Reese and Anna fight their way to save Fusco, Finch is taken to a school where Samaritan is teaching children. Claire wants Finch to join Samaritan or else he dies. Root (Amy Acker) then shows up to save Finch and shoots Anna in the back. 

Finch tries to locate his missing laptop but fails. With Finch's laptop in his hands, Greer is interested in buying the VAL app and use it for his own purposes.
