Popular E! News anchor Giuliana Rancic recently opened up about her new life with baby son Edward, and admits that motherhood has turned out to be everything she ever wanted and more. Rancic, who struggled with getting pregnant after being diagnosed with and battling breast cancer, welcomed baby son Edward Duke via surrogacy in August, and admits that being a mom is simply "awesome."

The 37-year-old television personality and her hubby Bill Rancic were having difficulties trying to get pregnant when Giuliana received the unfortunate news that she had breast cancer, which she publically announced during an interview with "Today" in October 2011. Just when she was attempting in-vitro fertilization, Rancic was forced to undergo a double mastectomy in December. The couple's struggles - experiencing a heart-wrenching miscarriage, having to undergo numerous fertility treatments,  and then having to face the tribulations of cancer - were documented in Style Network's reality show "Giuliana and Bill."

Now Giuliana is cancer free, and the happy couple welcomed Edward Duke via surrogate on Aug. 29, 2012.

"I knew it was going to be great, especially because we worked so hard at having a baby and we wanted a baby so bad, but it's even better than I expected," Giuliana told Parade magazine. "He's really opening his eyes now, and when he opens his eyes and stares at you for 10 minutes at a time while you're feeding him, you just realize why there's that mother-son bond and I say to myself: 'How am I ever going to say no to this kid!' He's got me. It's everything I had hoped for and more."

Giuliana doesn't even seem to mind the constant late-night/early-morning wakeup calls: "I think the biggest surprise is probably enjoying those overnight feedings," she said, according to the magazine. "I love them and look forward to them because I get to spend time with the baby."

Even after being diagnosed with breast cancer, Giuliana continued to hold her head up high and never once believed that she wouldn't be able to raise a child because of it: "I remember getting diagnosed last September, and it's fair to say that it was the worst day of my life, yet three weeks ago, I had the best day of my life, seeing my baby boy come into the world, It just really teaches you so much about how resilient we are, and how strong we are," Rancic continued. "If you just stay positive, if you can just believe that there is a reason bad things are happening, some good can come out of it and you try to do good with what's happening to you. There will be a light at the end of the tunnel."

Along with caring for just-turned one-month-old Edward, Giuliana plans on devoting a lot of her time to October's National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The "Fashion Police" host told the New York Daily News, "Having been through cancer, I know how important it is to live each day to the fullest." Giuliana will definitely be thinking pink throughout this entire month!
