After having just recently completed a stint in rehab to treat her stress and anxiety issues, singer/actress LeAnn Rimes found herself rushed to the ER this weekend after experiencing brutal pain from a "massive infection," something which the 30-year-old described as a "dental nightmare." Rimes was forced to cancel the first concert on her tour in Wendover, NV on Friday (Oct. 5), but managed to perform at two benefit shows on Saturday. The "Blue" singer claims that she is feeling much better now and is currently recovering from her impromptu hospital visit.
Early Saturday morning Rimes tweeted this message to fans:
@leannrimes: "I feel like I got hit in my right side of my face with a baseball bat. Not a good feeling when I am getting on a plane. For all my fans at Wendover last night, the show will be rescheduled, not a cancelled show. Worst way ever to kick off a tour... under anesthesia and a massive infection. Well, onward and upward. It can only get better from here!!! On another note, Happy Saturday."
Rimes (married to "Northern Lights" co-star Eddie Cibrian) managed to make it out of the hospital on time Saturday to perform at two fundraiser shows, benefiting the Autry Museum and the Living Free Animal Sanctuary.
The "How do I Live" songstress then posted a detailed account of her hospital visit on her personal website/blog on Sunday afternoon, reading:
"The ER at 3am, THAT is an interesting place to be. Feeling much better now, thanks to my husband's best friend who's an ER doc. I've been living in a dental nightmare for 10 months. I'm getting back on track though, I hope. I've had too many detours this year due to dental issues. I'm finally in great hands and being well taken care of. Last night was wonderful, performing to help raise money for the Autry Museum and earlier in the day performing a few songs to help raise money for the cats and dogs at living-free.org Needless to say, I'm resting today. Thank you all for your support and understanding. The last 10 months of pain are hard for me to wrap my head around. I'm sure it's difficult for you all to understand too. Let's just pray I'm on the mend. I'll see you all on the road very soon."
Rimes was set to play a gig In Washington, DC Tuesday night (Oct. 9), but that has been cancelled too. Check out her full tour lineup here.
No word on when the cancelled concerts will be rescheduled, but best of luck to Rimes for a quick and healthy recovery after such a tough past few weeks!
