Stacey Dash was attacked on the web for voicing her personal opinion on which presidential candidate she would be supporting. Her "freedom of speech" was put into test as thousands of hateful and racist messages poured in.
Dash first tweeted her support for Mitt Romney on Sunday evening.
"vote for Romney. The only choice for your future," she tweeted attaching a photo of herself with an American flag.
The surprising thing is that much of the backlash was received from fellow African Americans who appeared to expect all blacks to vote for President Barack Obama.
One Twitter user by the name of @SimplySher who is apparently a black woman herself wrote, "She's an indoor slave, you know that."
Despite the criticism, there were people who supported Dash in her freedom of expression and standing strong for the candidate she supports. Friends and fellow Romney supporters have tweeted to encourage the actress to stay strong.
Dash tweeted after the horrible cyber attacks, "My humble opinion... EVERYONE is entitled to one."
Immediately, supporters tweeted message along the lines of "@REALStaceyDash your not #clueless . glad you shared" and "I wish everyone would realise that! Nice to see u tweeting.. "
