Many Beyoncé fans were thrilled to hear that Jay-Z's leading lady would be returning to the big screen as the star in Clint Eastwood's remake of "A Star is Born." But now reports have it that the "Crazy in Love" songstress has exited out of the film, and that Eastwood may have to return to the casting drawing board to find a new lead role. Beyoncé made an announcement on E! News on Tuesday that although she was looking forward to working with Eastwood, she had to drop out of the movie because her busy schedule just wouldn't allow it.
According to 31-year-old Beyoncé, "I was looking forward to the production of A Star Is Born and the opportunity to work with Clint Eastwood. For months we tried to coordinate our schedules to bring this remake to life but it was just not possible. Hopefully in the future we will get a chance to work together."

Sources at Variety claim that filming delays for the "A Star is Born" remake have been ongoing -Beyoncé's pregnancy with Blue Ivy Carter and Eastwood's gig for "Trouble with the Curve" both postponed production. The gossip tabloid claims that Eastwood may now be interested in jazz musician Esperanza Spaulding for the role of Esther (the role was played by Barbara Streisand in 1976). But apparently the female lead will not be cast until the male lead is officially set (Eastwood has approached Hollywood stars including Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Cruise, Christian Bale, Johnny Depp and Bradley Cooper).
Even at the premiere of his latest film "Trouble with the Curve," Eastwood said Beyoncé would be "great" for the part, but wasn't positive that she would be available.
"A Star is Born" follows the story of an aspiring Hollywood actress (Esther) who befriends an aging movie star (Norman) who helps to launch her career.
Janet Gaynor and Fredric March starred in the 1937 original "A Star is Born," Judy Garland and James Mason starred in the 1954 remake, and Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson starred in an updated version of the drama in 1976. Clintwood's version would make it remake no 4.
