We might not yet be in the battle rounds of this season on The Voice, but things behind the scenes of the singing competition are reportedly getting pretty heated and not just between the contestants. It seems Maroon 5 frontman and coach Adam Levine is not getting along so well with his fellow judging panelist Pharrell Williams. This is the second season the two are sitting near each other in their red chairs, but tensions are starting to rise high as Christina Aguilera and Blake Shelton are trying to keep the peace.
According to Radar Online, Levine has been feeling the show's pressure and is reportedly "feeling shafted by Pharrell."
Adam has been getting jealous on set, and not it's not just because Nick Jonas is Christina's guest mentor. Get it? Because Jonas sings that song ... never mind.
The "Sugar" singer is not happy Pharrell is winning over the contestants who would normally go to Team Adam, but he's also jealous everyone on the staff loves the "Happy" singer.
"Not only is Pharrell taking the contestants that Adam would have generally locked in with ease, but he is also a favorite among the production staff," an insider explained to the news site.
After doing the show for eight seasons, it seems Adam has become cynical and is reportedly not fun to be around on set.
"Adam is just jaded after doing it for so many seasons," the insider told Radar. "Production staff are saying that not only does Adam act like an a**hole, but he is totally jealous of Pharrell and this season has brought out his true colors."
Despite this news, it seems like Levine is excited about one thing this season at least, as he has secured Ellie Goulding to be his guest mentor. The star gushed about the addition to People magazine.
"Ellie was so great," the star explained. "She's so human and easy to talk to. You could tell she had a profound impact on my team, which is awesome."
The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays on NBC.
