Saturn Awards 2015: Interstellar, The Walking Dead, Guardians of the Galaxy, Hannibal Take Nominations! [WATCH]

Before the 41st Annual Saturn Awards takes place in June, the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films has announced its nominations. Interstellar, The Walking Dead, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Hannibal take the lead in categories, such as Best Comic Book-to-Film Release, Best Science Fiction Film Release, and Best Network Television Series.

Comic Book Resources reports that the Saturn Awards in general "have strived to honor film and television in categories which best reflects their genres." This year, the Academy will offer a new Affiliate Membership for $25. Anyone who is a member may vote for the winners among the list.

According to the official site, Captain America: The Winter Soldier leads the nominations this year with a total of 11. Christopher Nolan's sci-fi space adventure received the second highest, 10 nominations. In the realm of television, Neck and neck, The Walking Dead managed to win an impressive 7 nominations with the NBC series, Hannibal, achieving 6 nominations.

For the first-time ever, the award organization created a special category to consider television series based on comic book super heroes For the Best Superhero Adaptation Television Series, shows such as Agent Carter, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Arrow, Constantine, The Flash, and Gotham, were able to be considered.
