A bus driver who punches a woman on a graphic video became viral after the footage was posted on Youtube, Worldstarhiphop.com and shared on Reddit. Originally, the woman was thought to be a young teenage girl however it was discovered that she was a 25-year-old woman. The woman initiated the fight first by taunting, cursing, spitting and even slapping the bus driver while he was driving, according to reports and video proof.
When the bus driver had enough of her insults, he got up from his seat and threw an uppercut punch at her jaw. After kicking her off the bus, he said, "She want to be a man, I'm gonna treat you like a man."
The incident occurred in September and recently received national attention. The RTA officials response to the incident was made in a statement:
"RTA saw the video posted on YouTube of the operator incident on October 11. Through the investigation, we believe the incident occurred on Sept. 18. Upon identifying the driver, he was immediately suspended and removed from duty. His behavior is absolutely unacceptable. RTA apologizes to our customers for this incident. A full investigation continues."
Here are some mixed reactions to the incident:
"When you instigate a physical altercation with a man you don't get to pull that "I'm a woman card". Keep your hands to yourself as should he. The girl deserved exactly what she got. You wanna act like a thug don't be surprised when you get treated like one. Don't put your hands on somebody unless you want them to do the same. and my goodness what a beautiful uppercut," Solomon expressed.
"He should get a promotion, she had it coming, he was protecting himself from assault, if he was a cop he would get a medal not fired..." CalFireNews said.
"if we don't like something, we either stab them, shoot them, or hit them. Pity we can't work things out without all the violence," Daringsugar observed.
"The "child" was asking for it. One of the rare times when a bully gets what she deserves and its caught on camera. I applaud him!" Jonic said.
"It is never right to advocate hitting a woman. BUT having said that. She got exactly what she was asking for. It should have been in her better judgement to not spit on, and hit someone. She was looking for a fight and got one. Perhaps when she is sitting at home nursing her jaw she will think about being a bit more civil next time," said another user.
"My heart goes out to the bus driver. I rode RTA for many years. I know for a fact that the drivers have to put up with a lot of ignorant people. Now he may have lost his job after many years of good service," someone added.
