AMC's The Walking Dead has just three new episodes left in Season 5, and a new sneak peek clip for Sunday's episode, entitled "Spend," has been released.
The clip focuses on Eugene and his glorious mullet. Check it out below:
And in case you missed it, here is part of our review of last week's episode, "Forget."
"Forget" was a notably lighter episode than anything The Walking Dead has done in the past. There was a dinner party, for goodness sake. Sure, we still had some zombies, and some nefarious actions unfolding throughout the hour, but for the most part, Alexandria has proven to be what Deanna said it was: a community that offers the closest thing to the old world that anyone has seen thus far.
All is not rosy and bright in Alexandria, though, as Rick, Carol, and Daryl continued to scheme to take over the community should the need arise. "Forget" further indicated that if the situation goes south in Alexandria, then it's going to be the fault of one of our survivors. Rick has started to accept that Alexandria is on the level, and even Daryl had come to largely accept life within the community by the end of the episode. But Rick is still carrying an extra gun as precaution because he just can't fully let his guard down.
Carol, on the other hand, went full on monster in this episode. It's almost sociopathic the way she's able to portray the unassuming, invisible (to use her word) housewife and then immediately switch to threatening and menacing. Her speech to little Sam was terrifying to me, and I'm a grown man.
Elsewhere, Sasha struggled with post traumatic stress disorder and had the most difficult time assimilating into Alexandria. Considering that Bob and Tyreese died so recently in terms of the show's timeline, it's understandable that this woman is completely wrecked and unable to relax. Her target practice on those stock family photos was evidence enough of that. It's also understandable that she freaked out on the woman whose biggest concern was making the wrong meal and who had apparently never experienced the horrors outside the walls.
It might be a bit too far to say that Rick, Carol, and anyone else involved in overthrowing Alexandria are becoming villains, but there's definitely some darkness there. After all, the residents of Alexandria are extremely weak. Deanna says they have no lookout in the tower because there hasn't been a need for one, which just seems dumb. It's almost impossible to fathom that no one has come across Alexandria, so a lookout would be necessary. And even if there are no humans out there to attack, zombies could still move in on the community.
Things were relatively calm this week, but it looks like the fuse has been lit for the situation at Alexandria to explode. It's only a matter of time until Rick's group does something to disturb the peace. The only question is who will blow it all up.
