Uncharted 4: A Thief's End was easily one of the most anticipated video games of 2015, but this week we learned that our anticipation has to wait another year because the release date for this Naughty Dog title has been pushed to the spring of 2016! According to a new update on the PlayStation Blog, the wait for the PS4 title will most likely be worth it, since this means more time to fix bugs, update the gameplay experience and ensure the story is great for fans of Nathan Drake and the series. In a new message from the game's directors, Bruce Straley and Neil Druckmann, we've learned that we won't get to play Uncharted 4 this year, but for good reason (via IGN / Kotaku).
"Since we showed you our first gameplay reveal of Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, more of the game and story have come together, and it's become clear to us that this game is much more ambitious than we originally envisioned," the message from the game directors states. Apparently, they want to get everything pretty perfect before showing us the next chapter of Nathan Drake's adventures, explaining that "this game deserves every bit of the attention to detail, precise pacing, and nuanced storytelling Naughty Dog is known for."
"So we've made the difficult choice of pushing the game's release date," this blog post reads. "The team at Naughty Dog will be heads down working through 2015 making sure that Nathan Drake's story gets the closure it deserves. Come Spring 2016, you and Nate are in for one thrilling, emotional ride."
