Amber Rose's Assistant Shares Her Instagram Selfie & Twerking Videos Secrets

Amber Rose's assistant, Benji Carlisle reveals her selfie secrets in an interview with Cosmopolitan. Pro tip: The angle is crucial. Carlisle says he met Rose last year when he was working as a stylist's assistant at the BET Awards. A few weeks later, he got a call from Rose asking for some help getting ready for an appearance, and since then, Carlisle says the two have been "inseparable."

"There's not one place I don't go with her," Carlisle told Cosmo. "Literally, if you see her. you're probably two feet away from seeing me, because I'm everywhere she's at." Some parts of the job aren't necessarily glamorous, like handling emails, scheduling, grocery shopping, and picking up Rose's dry cleaning, but Carlisle admits that being a live-in celebrity assistant has its perks. "I shot almost every twerking video," Carlisle says, admitting he's "usually the mastermind" behind some of Rose's controversial selfies and viral Instagram posts, like the famous monkini shot and Trinidad twerking video. 

That's not to say that Rose doesn't have her own Instagram selfie secrets. Carlisle says, "She's very particular - if you take a picture of her, she likes a certain angle. It's all about the frame, she says, about the whole frame of everything." He also breaks down the anatomy of a twerk video. "It [starts] like, 'Benji, I feel like dancing[...]I feel like making a video.' And my response is like, 'OK, Miss Rose. What song should I listen to?' Then she'll be like, 'You ready?' Then I do it."

Carlisle adds that Rose is completely unfazed by her alleged feud with Khloe Kardashian, and with Rose's new book deal and rumors of a potential reality show in the works, it sounds like Carlisle won't have to worry about job security anytime soon. "If she feuds, she feuds. If she doesn't, she doesn't[...] We really don't have time to stress or be sad or be mad because tomorrow, the next day, we have to work, we have meetings, we have a brand."
