Rihanna is the New Face of Dior

She's always been a fashion icon, but now Rihanna is making fashion history. The 27-year-old just became the new face of Dior, reportedly making her the first black woman to front the high fashion brand. Women's Wear Daily reports that Rihanna will be featured in the fourth installment of Dior's "Secret Garden" video series, and will make her debut as the brand's new spokesmodel this spring. According to the Daily Mail, the news comes days after Rihanna was reportedly spotted during a photoshoot for the Dior Spring campaign inside the Hall of Mirrors at the Palace of Versailles in Paris.

Throughout the course of her career, Rihanna has gone from style up-and-comer to serious fashion contender and recipient of the Council of Fashion Designers of America's Fashion Icon Award. The fashion world seems to agree that she'll be perfect as Dior's new spokesmodel. According to People, Rihanna has long been a favorite of high fashion designers like Balmain's Creative Director, Olivier Rousteing, who reportedly told the Telegraph, "There's no doubt about it[...]She has this aura, this charisma. It's not only sexual. It's something else. She is like a new Grace Kelly, or a Madonna... This woman of the world who represents a new world."

Adam Selman, Rihanna's "go-to designer" and creator of her "diamond-encrusted naked dress," has also reportedly gushed over her sense of style: "She's daring, she's bold, and she's not afraid of fashion. She doesn't let fashion overcome her[...]She embraces it and makes everything she puts on her own. Not many people do that." There's no question that Rihanna will be perfect in Dior's Spring campaign.
