Pop star Miley Cyrus definitely believes that the new Jonas Brothers song "Wedding Bells" is about her, but the 19-year-old songstress isn't about to make a big deal about it. According to Cyrus, it's normal for song writers to vent about their emotions and hurt feelings through lyrics, and although a little forewarning would have been nice, she totally understands where Nick Jonas is coming from.
"Wedding Bells," which the Jonas Brothers recently debuted during a performance in NYC, boasts these lyrics:
"She says, 'Can you keep a secret/ A ceremony's set for June/ I know it's a rush, but I just love him so much/ I hope that you can meet him soon.'/I don't want to love, if it's not you/ I don't want to hear the wedding bells bloom/ Maybe we can try one last time/ But I don't want to hear the wedding bells chime."
Cyrus called into Ryan Seacrest's L.A. radio show on Thursday to promote her guest appearance on "Two and a Half Men," and when asked if she thought the heartfelt tune was about her former relationship with Nick Jonas, the "Party in the U.S.A." star responded:
"I don't know who else is getting married ... so I feel like that's pretty blatant, but It's whatever. Like I said, everyone has to write songs that are about things that they felt and he even introduced it as 'this isn't the way that I am.' So, you can't ever hate on someone for writing about something you've been through... I think that you kind of get a fair warning when you date an artist and someone that's a writer, when you're going through things, that you're going to end up hearing about it on the radio."
Cyrus is currently engaged to "Hunger Games" hottie Liam Hemsworth, but she was romantically linked to 20-year-old Nick Jonas from 2006-2007.
During the Jonas Brothers' "reunion" gig at Radio City Music Hall on October 11, Nick announced this to the crowd before performing "Wedding Bells":
"We're in the process of recording a new album, which is both good and bad. [The bad means you have to] dive into subjects that make us uncomfortable and write about them. ... You have to write a song and apologize for it later. I don't think I've ever written a song that makes me as uncomfortable as this song does. Some things happened in the last year that affected me in that moment. ... This song is called 'Wedding Bells.'"
So what do fans think of Nick Jonas' "supposed" shout-out to Cyrus and her current beau?
