Insidious Chapter 3 is, well, the third installment of the popular new horror movie franchise, but this new film brings us back to a story that took place before the first two films. This prequel looks like one of the scariest movies of 2015, with a back-story that is sure to entice fans into movie theaters this summer. Check out a great new trailer for the new film right here!

So what is the draw for a third movie based on the Insidious story? Well, we get to see how ghost hunter Elise (Lin Shaye) finds out about "The Further" that we've witnessed before, but obviously with a new take. This time around, we learn about a haunted young girl and her terrified father.

This young girl (Stefanie Scott) is the target of some paranormal fiends, but there's more to it than your normal haunting. We get to see some scary creatures, ghosts and more in this new trailer. This looks like one of the scariest trailers we've seen all year, so we can't wait for the film to hit theaters!

Here is the official synopsis of Insidious Chapter 3, which hits theaters June 5, 2015 (via Slash Film):

The newest chapter in the terrifying horror series is written and directed by franchise co-creator Leigh Whannell. This chilling prequel, set before the haunting of the Lambert family, reveals how gifted psychic Elise Rainier (Lin Shaye) reluctantly agrees to use her ability to contact the dead in order to help a teenage girl (Stefanie Scott) who has been targeted by a dangerous supernatural entity.
