Looks like rap star Lil Wayne wants the San Francisco Giants to defeat the St. Louis Cardinals in the National League Championship Series (NLCS) - the Cash Money mogul hit the field at San Francisco's AT&T Park Sunday night during Game 6, clad in a Giants jersey and breaking out into an impromptu rendition of the baseball classic "Take Me Out to the Ball Game." Lil Wayne's MLB crooning may have been a tad bit off-key, but it was a special little (kid-friendly) musical treat for the crowd to enjoy nonetheless.
By the way, Giants defeated the Cardinals 6-1 in Game 6 and will go on to compete in the final Game 7 Monday night, Oct. 22 (winner goes on to play the Detroit Tigers in the 2012 World Series). So maybe Wayne's baseball tune gave San Francisco some good luck!
Check it out:
After the performance Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr. tweeted this:
@LilTunechi: "Just sung 'take me out to the ball game' @ the Giants game!!! A true life highlight! I thank San Fran for rokkin wit me!"
Although Wayne is a born-and-raised New Orleans guy, he's friends with Giants second baseman Ryan Theriot (also from Louisiana native). So that might explain all of the San Francisco-loving.
