English singer/songwriter James Blunt, who imbued the radio with his 2005 hit "You're Beautiful," recently announced that he plans on quitting the music business - for now. According to the 38-year-old British crooner he is ready to take a little break from the entertainment bizz - he plans on taking some "time out for himself" and enjoying life out of the Hollywood and concert touring limelight.
Blunt said this during a recent interview with the Daily Mail: "I just want to take some time out for myself. I haven't got any plans to do more songwriting. I have been chilling out since I finished my world tour and I've spent a lot of time in Ibiza."
Blunt first rose to musical fame with his 2005 debut album "Back to Bedlam" (which featured hits including "You're Beautiful" and "Goodbye my Lover"). The album won him five Grammy nominations (including Best New Artist, Song of the Year, and Best Pop Vocal Album) in which he didn't win any. In Britain the album was certified 10× platinum and entered the Guinness Book of World Records for the fastest selling album in one year. The record sold over 11 million copies. Blunt then went on to release two follow-up albums, 2007's "All the Lost Souls," and 2010's "Some Kind of Trouble" (both were received well by critics, but neither achieving the same fame and recognition as "Back to Bedlam").
