Heading into the final weeks of the regular season, the Red Wings snag the steady No. 8 spot in Pierre LeBrun's official NHL power ranking for ESPN.com with a 38-20-11 record:
"The Red Wings reacted to their 7-2 loss in Philadelphia by turning their fury on the Penguins in Pittsburgh on Sunday, a 5-1 thumping. Really like Petr Mrazek in goal. There's an edge to him."

Meanwhile, the Lightning currently hold the impressive No. 6 spot (out of 30 total teams) with a 43-21-7 record. Tampa Bay is 2nd in the Atlantic Division. According to LeBrun:
"The Lightning will try to make it 4-0-0 this season against rival Montreal as the Canadiens visit Tampa on Monday night."
