Apple will make an announcement that they will be releasing the, "iPad mini." The announcement is to be made October 23 at the Apple Conference, and has people buzzing about the new gadget.

The device is said to be smaller with a 7.85" screen. Christmas has seemed to come early for Apple lovers all over the world with the release of the iPhone 5, iOS 6, and now what could be the mini iPad. The expected value of Apple's new toy is said to be $250 or as high as $329, which is surprisingly cheap compared to all the Apple items.

Before his death, Steve Job ridiculed the size of the seven inch tablet in 2010 saying:

"The reason we wouldn't make a 7-inch tablet isn't because we don't want to hit a price point. It's because we don't think you can make a great tablet with a 7-inch screen saying,"The 7-inch tablets are tweeners, too big to compete with a smart phone and too small to compete with an iPad. He said the resolution of the display could be increased to make up for the smaller size, but that would be meaningless, unless your tablet also includes sandpaper, so that the user can sand down their fingers to around one quarter of the present size. There are clear limits of how close you can physically place elements on a touch screen before users cannot reliably tap, flick or pinch them. This is one of the key reasons we think the 10-inch screen size is the minimum size required to create great tablet apps."

Are you excited for the new mini tablet or do you agree with the late Jobs?
