Taylor Swift and Conor Kennedy Break Up: Long-Distance too Hard, Donald Trump Calls it a "Good Thing"

Reports have it that country/pop singer Taylor Swift has broken up with boyfriend Conor Kennedy. According to a friend of Swift's, no "cheating scandal" or hard feelings were involved - the young couple simply split because the long-distance relationship was beginning to take its toll. Apparently (along with his "Obama announcement") Donald Trump even had something to say about the Swift-Kennedy break up - after news of the split broke online, the infamous billionaire tweeted this: @realDonaldTrump: "Taylor and Conor--great news for Taylor!"

Swift began dating 18-year-old Kennedy back in July - the "Love Story" songstress even got the big two thumbs up from the family's patriarch, Ethel Kennedy. Things seemed to be getting pretty cozy between the duo - until Swift began heavily traveling to promote her new album, "Red." Apparently, the couple has grown apart over the past few weeks.

"They quietly parted ways a while ago," Swift's pal told Us Weekly magazine. "It was just a distance thing. No hard feelings. They're fine...It's been over a month since they've even seen each other. With her promotion for 'Red,' she has no time off until the end of the year."

Swift recently opened up about her experiences with love and relationships in an interview with Katie Couric (which airs on Couric's show on Friday, Oct. 26) - "I don't know how to have a normal relationship because I try to act normal and love from a normal place and live a normal life, but there is sort of an abnormal magnifying glass, like [A]telescope lens, on everything that happens between me and anybody else. I don't really know that much about love, it turns out."

Not sure what Trump has to do with the break up, but the hotel business mogul is known for expressing his blunt opinions on many celebrity relationships. He recently tweeted, "Robert Pattinson should not take back Kristen Stewart. She cheated on him like a dog & will do it again -- just watch. He can do much better!" Not long after, he put his two-cents in on another Hollywood hookup - "Katy Perry is no bargain but I don't like John Mayer--he dates and tells--be careful Katy (just watch!)."

It doesn't look like Trump is a fan of any sort of celebrity dating... but best of luck to Swift and Kennedy on whatever happens in the future!
