Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan appeared on Chris Jericho's podcast, Talk is Jericho, this week, and the fan favorite discussed his thoughts on the state of the company and the locker room.
Here's what Bryan had to say:
"We have a select few guys at the top, right? Everyone else gets kind of the same treatment where they'll win one week, they'll lost the next. It's been hard for guys to get elevated. One of the things I'd like to do is...and this is where I don't have your typical ambition. It is a different kind of ambition. To raise and get more people over. If we have to use me to do that, I think that's better for the company. It's more fun.
Not only will I have more people to work with but John Cena will have more people to work with. Roman Reigns will have more people to work with. Guys in the back will be happier because there is this perception of 'If I work hard, I will get opportunities.' Say a guy feuded with me and it did really well. The office looks at them differently.
For example, Heath Slater. I am not even friends with him. We don't hang out, but I like him. I think Heath Slater is tremendous! As the One Man Southern Rock band, anytime they give him any little bit of TV time, he gets booed! So take somebody like Heath Slater. If you put me in a program with Health Slater, people will go 'Why is Daniel Bryan in a program with Heath Slater?' Let him show people what he can do. Let him show why he is in a program with Daniel Bryan. If the company can see that fans hate this guy, then they'll put him in a feud with so and so."
Not everyone is going to be Hulk Hogan, Steve Austin, or The Rock. Take Mizdow, who is super popular, super over right now. He is not a main event guy...but he doesn't need to be."
