Pop star Christina Aguilera's weight has fluctuated in the public's eye for years - now that the "Lotus" songstress is currently sporting a fuller figure, some critics are harshly slamming the 31-year-old as "fat" and "disgusting," and Adam Levine is pretty pissed off about it. X-tina's "The Voice" co-star recently spoke out against such bullying, insisting that Aguilera's weight is "none of their business" and that such critics "need to grow up." Levine and the pop diva princess may butt heads sometimes on the set of "The Voice," but such spats are usually over-exaggerated for dramatic effect. The Maroon 5 front man insists that he's always got his reality singing show pal's back and would do anything to defend her.

When asked about all the weight jabs Aguilera is currently receiving in the media, Levine told reporters in New York City on Friday (Oct. 26), "People shouldn't say those kinds of things because, f--k you. It's like, come on guys, grow up. The one thing about the culture right now-celebrity culture particularly-that is so ugly is [that] people feel like they can just say nasty things about other people...she gets a lot of it. It pisses me off. Of course I have her back, of course I defend her."

This may confuse some "The Voice" fans - Levine and Aguilera constantly fight and bicker on the show, so why is the 33-year-old rocker so heatedly defending her name? Apparently the onscreen spats are really just for show and dramatics - Levine compares the duo's quarrelling to the innocent kind siblings usually have:

"The fights that everyone thought we were having were fictional-we never hated each other, we never were having some sort of secret battles that everyone thought we were having. They were silly bickering things that brother and sister would do. It's not nearly what everybody thought... We're all good, Christina and I."

Levine once admitted to MTV that it did take some time to really get to know Aguilera, but now that the two are on good terms, there's no way he'd let such disrespectful remarks slide by:

"It's not cool. I've never liked it. I think it's horrible and I'll totally defend (Christina) when people say things like that because it's no one's business."
