Avril Lavigne Ex-Husband Deryck Whibley Dresses as Pop Star for Halloween, Nickelback's Chad Kroeger Not Amused

Looks like pop star Avril Lavigne served as the inspiration behind ex-husband Deryck Whibley's rather amusing Halloween costume this year, and Lavigne's current beau Chad Kroeger of Nickelback is not very impressed or amused.  Whibley decided to take the couples-costume themed route for Halloween 2012, dressing as the punk-pop princess Lavigne while his girlfriend (model Ari Cooper) took on Kroeger's grungy, rocker signature look. Funny - yes. Somewhat rude and offensive - probably. Although Lavigne and Whibley were supposedly on "good terms" following their 2009 divorce, maybe her sudden engagement to Kroeger over the summer took the Sum 41 front man by surprise, and he felt the costume jab appropriate. Even so, 37-year-old Kroeger hit up Twitter to bash the spiky-haired punk right back.

Whibley dressed as Lavigne and Cooper dressed as Kroeger were spotted at a Halloween bash over the weekend. Once snapshots of the duo hit the web, Kroeger posted this message from Nickelback's Twitter account:

@Nickelback: "Hey Deryck loved the costumes! we were going to dress up as you guys this year but all the parties had celebrity themes haha! -CK."

Diss!

It looks like some fresh rock star drama is currently brewing.

28-year-old Lavigne married Whibley back in 2007, then filed for divorce in 2009 stating "irreconcilable differences." The "Complicated" songstress kept her relationship with Kroeger mostly under wraps, but the duo made headlines in August when they announced their sudden engagement.

So what's next, will Lavigne and Kroeger retaliate with their own couples' costume?
