Is Mariah Carey Dating 'We Belong Together' Director Brett Ratner After Nick Cannon Divorce?

Do they belong together? Mariah Carey has started the rumor mill turning with reports that she could possible be dating her longtime friend Brett Ratner, as the singer was spotted stepping out with him in St. Barts earlier this week. It seems that the former wife to Nick Cannon has definitely moved on from the America's Got Talent host, as her and Ratner were spotted not only linking arms during the trip, but they were also celebrating Mariah's and Brett's birthdays together, as they were born one day apart from each other.

However, don't jump to conclusions too quickly! According to E! News, the two are just very close friends. In fact, it appears that Brett's girlfriend was also in attendance on the trip with him and Mariah.

"Brett thinks it's silly," a source explained to the news site of the romance speculation. "The woman he's dating was with them the whole time and is in half the pictures."

The insider took it even one step further explaining that the woman that Ratner is seeing has been with him for almost a year.

"It's not new. They've been casually dating for almost a year. She's very friendly with Mariah," the reports claim.

The singer backed this up when she took to her Instagram account to upload a snap of the two sharing a moment together in the girl's bathroom, writing, "Hanging out in the girls room with @brettrat."

A rep also spoke out to People saying that the relationship rumors are just that... rumors.

"They have been best friends for a very long time," the insider explained of the two who have worked together on countless videos including Carey's "We Belong Together," "Heartbreaker" and "Touch My Body."
