During the shooting of LincolnDaniel Day-Lewis never left character on set. Wherever he went he didn't want to be called Dan, Daniel or Mr. Lewis. He spoke as Lincoln and wished to be called Mr. President. Fifty Shades of Grey star Jamie Dornan has followed in those method-acting footsteps for his role in The Fall, a series in which he plays a serial killer, and literally stalked a woman on the London Underground. According to Dornan, this was supposed to prepare him for his role.

During an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Dornan recalled the incident as "exciting."

"It felt kind of exciting, in a really sort of dirty way. I'm sort of not proud of myself. But I do honestly think I learned something from it, because I've obviously never done any of that. It was intriguing and interesting to enter that process of 'What are you following her for?' and 'What are you trying to find out?'"

Before admitting to this, Dornan said what he was about to reveal was "bad" and asked if he could get arrested for it.

This isn't the first time Dornan has found a unique way of getting into the role. After signing on for the role of Christian Grey, he visited a sex dungeon to look at the dynamic but also the dominant and the submissive. Dornan recalled that the dominant one in the dungeon was happier than how his character would be in that same position.

"I watched him do his thing," Dornan said. "It was quite jovial, a very different approach to how I saw Christian being in the Red Room. I think Christian takes it a bit more seriously."

The next time we'll see Dornan on the big screen will be for the Fifty Shades of Grey sequel Fifty Shades Darker. There he'll don the role of the billionaire dom for the second time.
