While the Rolling Stones are making their 100th comeback in as many years, so, too, is Aerosmith's Steven Tyler. Granted, he'll be doing it by himself and it'll be a country album. Tyler made the announcement Tuesday night, March 31, at the Grand Ole Opry in a lineup that included country greats like Charlie Daniels, Aaron Watson and Eric Paslay. Once Tyler made the announcement, he sang two songs with Paslay to show that country is something he is capable of.

This won't be the first time Tyler has recorded country songs, either. He once did a duet with Carrie Underwood on Aerosmith's Music from Another Dimension, had an unannounced blues jam with Keith Urban in 2013 and did a song with Brad Paisley during the 2014 CMA Country Christmas concert. Tyler even sang background vocals for an upcoming Jana Kramer single.

In 2014, Tyler did an interview for Rolling Stone Country and said country music is in his roots.

"I grew up in the woods of New Hampshire. I have more country in me than people think," Tyler said. "Aerosmith always crossed the line whether it was with 'Dream On' or 'Train Kept a Rollin,' or even 'Walk This Way' with Run DMC. And we sang with Carrie Underwood on our last album."

Rumors of his country music debut started hitting the mainstream when Tyler moved to Nashville and began co-writing with musicians such as Jaren Johnston, McGraw, Urban and Eric Church. As for now there is no date for an album release. All we know is that it will be under Big Machine records.

If you're anticipating the album, though, I wouldn't take all the secrecy as a sign that the process is moving slowly. After all, the country stuff Tyler has done so far he seems pretty motivated.
