A woman who accused popular rapper and "The Voice" star Cee Lo Green of sexual assault after he supposedly drugged her with Ecstasy at a popular LA sushi restaurant back in July now claims that she has a recorded conversation with the "Forget You" singer where he basically admits to slipping her the drug and then forcing sexual relations. Although Green heatedly denies the sexual battery allegations, TMZ insiders report that LAPD now have verbal proof from the 38-year-old singer/songwriter, where he repeatedly apologizes to the unnamed victim during a "pretext call" (where he allegedly references the MDMA, empathogenic drug multiple times).
According to the unidentified woman (who supposedly immediately reported the incident to local law enforcement back in July, although she is not a native Californian), Cee Lo Green took her to a downtown L.A. restaurant where the two promptly ordered drinks - she remembers nothing after that. The woman insists that the next thing she remembers is lying naked in a bed next to Green.
Following the report, LAPD detectives had the woman make a "pretext call" to Green which was recorded. A "pretext call" is when an individual baits the other party into acknowledging a crime or other misdeed. Sources involved in the case tell TMZ that during the recorded conversation, Green repeatedly apologizes and referencing Ecstasy (although he does not specifically say he put the drug in her drink). Sources claim that Green admitted that he thought the drug would help them have an "exciting time" together.
Green's reps still deny the allegations - they insist that if the tape did contain such admissions, Green would most definitely already be arrested. Green supporters allege that the accuser went to a civil lawyer before even going to police - she then demanded money from the singer to "make the whole thing go away." Still other reports claim that the accuser's lawyer first called Green's manager to find out if the singer had any communicable diseases, not to demand any sort of money blackmail deal.
Even so, the case is still under investigation - detectives questioned employees at the LA restaurant last week to determine if anything unusual had gone down between Green and the woman. etectives went to the restaurant last week to determine if employees saw anything unusual between Cee Lo and the woman. LAPD will refer the case to the L.A. County District Attorney's Office once the investigation is completed.
