Mexican songstress/actress Paulina Rubio was recently accused of physically beating her personal assistant Felipe Restrepo Betancur after he booked her a coach seat on a flight headed to Mexico. Restrepo Betancur then filed a lawsuit against Rubio, claiming that she totally flipped out on him at a Miami airport after finding out she wouldn't be sitting first class. Now, Rubio's rep released in a public statement that Restrepo Betancur's harsh allegations are simply "the subject of fantasy and make believe." Apparently Rubio's lawyer is set to fire back at Restrepo Betancur with another lawsuit because he ultimately breached his confidentiality agreement by publicizing such detrimental "lies" about Rubio.
Restrepo Betancur filed the lawsuit against Rubio in Florida federal court last week, alleging that the songstress got extremely violent toward him once they boarded the plane from Miami to Mexico. Restrepo Betancur claims that he was punched, kicked, slapped, and even had objects hurled at him multiple times which resulted in a number of serious injuries, including various abrasions and contusions on his shins and arms (as well as suffering from emotional damage). Apparently the whole thing started after Rubio missed her originally scheduled plane last weekend. Restrepo Betancur was put in charge of finding her a seat on the next flight out - no first class spots remained, so he informed Rubio that she would have to sit coach. That is when the "Brava!" songstress allegedly started to freak out. Restrepo Betancur, who had worked fr Rubio since August, was then promptly fired.
A public statement recently released by Rubio's lawyer states, "The moment after being fired and eventually recovering from his inebriation Mr. Restrepo ran to an attorney who was representing another individual in a meritless lawsuit previously filed against Ms. Rubio's company Link Tours, Inc... Incredibly, Mr. Restrepo has concocted a fable about being beaten by a woman half his size... Notably absent from this entire story is any reference that this 'beating and humiliation' was documented or observed by anyone on the flight."
So Mstarz readers, which is it - Team Rubio or Team Restrepo Betancur?
