It's that time of the year again where daylight saving time ends.  It ends on Sunday, November 4, 2012 at 2:00 a.m.  For many, it means they get an extra hour of sleep.  For others, it means that there is less sunlight during the day since the sun sets one hour earlier.  Some states including Hawaii, parts of Arizona and some U.S. territories do not observe the daylight-saving time and do not need to adjust their clocks.

You can set the clock back one hour before you sleep or wake up at 2:00 a.m. to change the time.  Some digital clocks and phones will set automatically and others will need to be set up manually.

It is also encouraged for homes to replace the batteries for the smoke alarms.  National Fire Protection Association reported that 40% of deadly home fires occurred where the smoke alarms did not work.  Tragedy could be prevented with working smoke alarms.

The next time to change your clock to daylight saving time is on the second Sunday in March.
