In a striking victory for the Spears family, the court trying charges against them has dropped the lawsuit.

Rendering plaintiff Sam Lutfi a major blow, a Los Angeles court Thursday quashed a lawsuit against Britney and her parents, saying that there is not enough evidence to further proceed in the case.

"I really thought long and hard, so the motions are granted...as to all the defendants and all the causes of action. That is the right thing to do, so I am going to do it," said Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Suzanne Brugera, while dismissing the lawsuit against the pop sensation and her family, according to E! News.

Lutfi had sued the singer and her parents, Lynne and Jamie Spears, over breach of trust and defamation. He also threw some startling revelations from the court stand during the hearing; including that Britney shaved her head fearing drug test.

On the other hand, the self styled manager of Britney accused her parents of hurting him both physically and mentally. He alleged that Lynne threatened to kill him and also sent a text message back in 2007, saying that he would be beaten up so badly that he would require hospital aid.

Lutfi sought to pursue defamation charges against Lynne. He said that Britney's mother has described him as "Svengali" and "predator' in her book "Through the Storm," which allegedly motivated him to commit suicide owing to the insult.

Lutfi claimed that he was working as an unofficial manager for Britney and was trying to get her off drugs, besides protecting her from paparazzi.
