WWE taped the April 2, 2015 edition of Thursday Night SmackDown on Tuesday in Fresno, California, and the episode begins with WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins.

Rollins comes out with The Authority to cut a promo. Randy Orton cuts in and demands a championship match. Kane responds by booking him against Big Show for right now. Orton defeats Show by disqualification when The Authority interferes. Ryback comes out to make the save.

Naomi defeats Natalya with The Bella Twins on commentary.

Backstage, Kane tells Rollins he will defend the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Orton at Extreme Rules. Dean Ambrose comes out of Kane's bathroom, so the Director of Operations books him against Luke Harper.

Roman Reigns does an interview in which he says he has beaten Seth Rollins before and he'll do it again for the title.

The Miz defeats R-Truth, but Damien Mizdow comes out and hits the Skull Crushing Finale on Miz as payback for what happened on Monday Night Raw.

John Cena comes out to cut a promo and says he will defend the United States Championship in an open challenge every week. Rusev comes out and says he will face Cena for the belt at Extreme Rules. Cena offers to fight right now, but Rusev declines. He tries to drop the Russian flag, but Cena drops the American flag instead.

Harper vs. Ambrose never gets started because the former powerbomb the latter through the announce table.

Sheamus defeats Daniel Bryan by countout. Bad News Barrett, who was on commentary for the match, hits Bryan with a Bullhammer while the referee is distracted.
