The presidential polls in 2012 are showing a very tight race between President Barack Obama and Republican hopeful Mitt Romney. There is only one more day left before America's president for the next four years will be confirmed.
Several national polls have revealed a tie between Obama and Romney. The most recent report from Rasmussen Reports indicate that both candidates are tired with 49 percent of the votes nationally.
"One key to the outcome on Election Day will be the racial and ethnic mix of the electorate," the Rasmussen report said. "In 2008, approximately 74 percent of voters were white. The Obama campaign has argued that this will fall a couple of percentage points in 2012 with an increase in minority voting. Others have noted the increased enthusiasm among white voters and the decreased enthusiasm among Hispanic voters and suggest that white voters might make up a slightly larger share of the electorate this time around. It is significant because Romney attracts 58 percent of the white vote, while Obama has a huge lead among non-white voters."
Their report also suggests that the turnout of white voters may influence the election's results.
"If the white turnout increases on Election Day, it will be very difficult for the president to win. If it decreases, it will be very difficult for him to lose," the report stated.
ABC News/Washington Post presidential tracking poll has also revealed a tie for both candidates with 48% of the votes each released on November 3.
Politico/George Washington University/Battleground poll results revealed on November 4 indicate a tie at 48% each candidate also.
NBC News/Wall Street Journal's poll released on November 4 reveals Obama with a very slight lead with 48% of the votes and Romney with 47%.
