Billy Ray Cyrus is stepping out of his daughter's, Miley Cyrus's shadow. The "Achy Breaky Heart" singer is going to play a smooth layer on Broadway's Chicago at the Ambassador Theatre, November 5 through December 23.
Cyrus will play Billy Flynn, a smooth talking lawyer hired by Roxie Hart, a housewife and nightclub dancer who is on trial for murdering her lover.
The Broadway hit which is set in the 1920s is now in its 16th year of production and is directed by Walter Bobbie. The singer has had some acting practice with his daughter Miley on the Disney's Channel as Hannah Montana's father Robby Ray Stewart for five seasons. In addition, Cyrus also starred in Hannah Montana: The Movie, Flying By, Christmas in Canaan, Christmas Comes Home to Canaan, The Spy Next Door and Mulholland Drive.
Cyrus let his fans in on his experience on his video blog where he commended the star cast which included, Amy Spanger as Roxie Hart, Amra-Faye Wright as Velma Kelly, Carol Woods as Matron "Mama" Morton, C. Newcomer as Mary Sunshine and Cory English as Amos Hart.
