Former "7th Heaven" star Beverley Mitchell has announced that she is pregnant with her first child with husband Michael Cameron - the 31-year-old actress is expecting to give birth sometime in early April. Mitchell, who played Lucy Camden on the hit drama television series "7th Heaven," claims that co-star and close gal pal Jessica Biel was one of the first to hear about the exciting baby news. Apparently Mitchell was shocked to find out that she was indeed expecting - it took seven pregnancy tests (and two more at the doctor's office) for "The Secret Life of an American Teenager" star to fully come to terms with the impending growth of a baby bump.
According to Mitchell, it was the development of a keener sense of smell that led her to believe that she might be pregnant - "My sense of smell was off the charts, to the point where I could smell a kid's dirty diaper from the other side of a restaurant," she said.
Mitchell and 32-year-old Cameron just celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary in Italy - the couple wed in the town of Ravello in 2008. The celebration coincided with Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake's highly-anticipated, private Italian wedding ceremony last month - a pregnant Mitchell was finally able to share the happy baby news with one of her closest pals: "Jess was one of the first to know [the baby news]. I started crying," Mitchell tells People. "It was really exciting to share that with Auntie Jess... Going to any wedding pregnant is definitely an experience if you've never done it before. I'm just absolutely thrilled to see my best friend marry her best friend."
Mitchell is thrilled to be pregnant with her first child, but it did take some time for the baby news to fully sink-in: "I was like, 'No, it can't be that," Mitchell admits. "I took seven pregnancy tests. I went to the doctor and had two more tests and they were like, 'Bev, usually when the first one comes out positive, the rest of them will all say the same thing.'"
Congrats to the happy couple!
