AJ Lee was only in the WWE a few years and in that short time her contribution to female wrestling is greatly appreciated by fans. Especially since she came up during a time when female wrestling wasn't held in the highest regard with bookers giving the divas less then three minutes to tell a story in the ring. Still, despite all that AJ Lee won fans over – something that's been tough to do in this day. This is why it's with great sadness to say Lee has retired from the WWE. The trailblazing diva from the modern era has decided to hang up her Converse for good and it looks like she'll be an author working with the Leshne Agency.
She announced she'll be working with the Agency on Twitter. Lee hopes her book will inspire younger women to follow their dreams.
Thank you @LeshneAgency. I hope our book inspires girls to become strong women & underdogs to make their dreams a reality.

Anybody who knows AJ knows it'll probably a damn good book and might be the best ones written by a wrestler since Mick Foley decided to take up the pen and pad and own the New York Times Bestseller list.
All the wrestling dirt sheets have speculated what her next project will be. Some wondered if she was expecting while others thought she would wrestle for indie promotions. The mother one seems plausible but the wrestling one doesn't make much sense being she said she "retired" from wrestling. Her becoming an author was the most unexpected answer though. In a way she took a page from her husband CM Punk's book by leaving wrestling entirely to peruse another passion.
With Lee gone fans will no doubt appreciate her work in the ring. Very few can say they were as good as her let alone find a way to develop a unique submission hold. Just when you thought everything has been done, Lee came out with the Black Widow.
The once meek Diva who debuted for the Smackdown brand in 2011 shot a fire under the female competition by being one of the longest reigning female champions in WWE history. While fans respect loved her as champ, nobody respects the Lee title reign more than Lee herself. After winning the Divas Championship at the Payback pay-per-view in 2013 Lee got a tattoo of the infamous date on her neck.
The last time the three-time champion held the Divas Championship was at the Survivor Series pay-per-view in 2014. She lost the title to the now current champion Nicki Bella in a triple threat match.
