The Jason Bateman and Michael Cera cult classic Arrested Development has always been in a state of flux. When Fox canned the show after Season 3, fans wondered if it would ever return. They shared the same sentiment after Netflix brought it back for Season 4, except this time they wondered if the cast would come together for a movie. Well, for all the anticipation, the best thing happened to Arrested Development because Netflix confirmed the show is being brought back for 17 more episodes for a fifth season.

In an interview with ESPN's Bill Simmons on his B.S. Report podcast, Arrested Development executive producer Brian Grazer made the big announcement that the dysfunctional Bluth family, where mother pits son and daughter against each other, are coming back for the streaming service.

"We're going to do another 17 episodes. So, stay tuned for Arrested Development," he said.

You can watch the full interview below.

Season 4 of Arrested Development was met with mixed reviews. The die-hards claimed the Bluth family should have been kept together instead of apart from each other every episode. This formula of having a singular episode centered on one person almost took away from the full dysfunctional effect that made this show a cult hit.

Right now, there is no release date nor was the entire cast confirmed for the return. We'll just have to wait for more announcements from executive producer Grazer, show creator Mitchell Hurwitz, the cast and Netflix itself.

These are exciting times for Netflix, and the Arrested Development announcement is just one aspect of the service's continued success. In a few days on April 10, Daredevil will make its long-awaited premiere. While DC has found great success with Arrow, it will be interesting to see what direction Marvel decides to take with Daredevil because it will not be facing any restrictions on content regarding language and violence. They could go all-in on Frank Miller's guardian/devil style of Daredevil that brought Matt Murdock to prominence.
