In a major disappointment, Halle Berry was denied a request to move her 4-year-old daughter permanently to France by a court.
Berry, who is engaged in a custody battle with her former beau, Gabriel Aubry, wants to take her daughter, Nahla, permanently to France. However, a judge has denied her permission.
"Halle Berry just lost big in court -- a judge has ruled she cannot permanently move her 4-year-old daughter to France," TMZ reported.
Berry is currently engaged to fiancé Olivier Martinez and they plan to live in France.
"According to reports, the "Catwoman" star sought to convince the court bench saying that France has better laws to safeguard one's privacy which would help her keep her daughter, Nahla Aubry, away from paparazzi.
Earlier, Berry made the same point while explaining the reason behind her attempt to shift her daughter to France. She told InStyle, "It's the appeal of privacy and a greater sense of safety," that is behind her move to France.
"Because we are followed all the time, she is starting to feel like she is somehow special, and of course she is. But I want her to understand that she's special because of who she is, not because she was born into this celebrity blender," said Berry, according to Us Weekly.
